Evie loves the Pigeon books by Mo Willems. I have been a huge Mo Willems fan for a long time, I loved The Off-Beats on KaBlam! In my book illustration class in college I did an illustrator presentation on him, so I was really excited that Evie likes his books so much.

I’m currently in the process of planning her Pigeon party for her 3rd birthday, and decided to make a little something. And since she obviously needs more monograms, I went with a Pigeon themed embroidery monogram. I was inspired by the amazing hoops that Love & A Sandwich makes, I especially love her Ponyo hoop.
So I drew a quick line drawing of Pigeon in Illustrator and printed it out to use as a template. I originally wanted to make the E two colors, but I gave up on that and just used one. It didn’t take too terribly long and I am extremely proud of how it turned out. Evie hasn’t seen it yet but I can’t wait to see her reaction! I really liked making it and have another one in the works that I will hopefully finish this week.
