Wednesday I noticed the duck had been gone all day from the nest. I was confused because there were only three eggs in the nest and no sign of the others.

We couldn’t figure out what happened because there weren’t any shells in the nest. But upon further inspection we found them outside the planter and under the tree.

I have no idea how we missed the hatching, we have been checking on it pretty regularly. I’m disappointed Evie missed the ducklings, I expected them to be so noisy we wouldn’t be able to ignore them.
