Evie loves Sofia the First and asked me recently to make a carrot for her stuffed bunny from the show, Clover. It was a simple little project and didn’t take me long and I figured I’d put together a pattern in case anyone else wants to make a little carrot plush, especially with Easter coming up. It would also be a super cute addition to any play kitchen!
I get my wool blend felt from Benzie Design on Easy and absolutely love it. The 6×9″ sheets are big enough for this, I used tangerine and kelly. Cut out two of each of the pattern pieces.
Using a slightly darker color embroidery floss I added some stitched details and then whip stitched the two pieces together, leaving the bottom seam open.
I did the same for the main carrot piece, leaving the top open.
I lightly stuffed the stem with Fairfield Poly-Fil Premium Polyester Fiber* and attached it to the inside of the carrot piece. At this point you could actually leave it if you wanted a little pouch to put Easter treats into, but since Evie wanted a toy for her bunny, I kept going.
Stuff the rest of the carrot and sew the carrot shut.
And there you have it! The finished carrot, including the stem, is about 6.5″ but you could easily adjust the size if you’re making it for a bigger or smaller plush.
