I have always loved the look of projects consisting entirely of French knots but they always seemed like they would take way more patience than I have. About 6 weeks ago I had the idea to make a French knot color wheel using a 3″ hoop. I figured that it wouldn’t be as much of an undertaking working with a tiny hoop. Let me tell you, it still took a long, long time.
I worked on it pretty diligently for a few weeks and then set it aside. The 30 for 30 crafting challenge inspired me to pick it back up and finish it. I started focusing all my efforts on it and finally stitched my last French knot.
I really love how it turned out, it’s exactly what I wanted. I have a pile of amazing embroideries I’ve gotten from various swaps that I intend to hang up by my desk, I think this little guy will join them all.
it turned out amazing. i am inspired to pull out an old french knot project now!
looks great, so bright and cheery!
This looks amazing! I’ve been following your progress on Instagram. 🙂 I think I am the only person who cannot do a French knot, I’ve tried but it never comes out right lol!
Wow, I am seriously impressed. Although I don’t have any plan to attempt anything like this, even though I don’t hate french knots, it just looks so time consuming! Well done for finishing it 🙂
looks great! must be really fun to squish in your hands too. congrats on finishing!
Impressive finish! It’s gorgeous. 🙂
Thanks! It was a very satisfying thing to finish!
A wonderful piece of work 🙂

This is super pretty!! Thanks for sharing!
This is just stunning! I’ve been seeing your progress on Instagram and it made me happy every time 🙂 I’d love to do an all French knot project sometime — I love them so much.
I think everyone should do at least one French knot project. It’s extremely satisfying!
Very interesting! Haven’t seen anything like it before! It always feels good to finish up a project!
Oh gosh. I am drooling over this. Gorgeous!!
That is beautiful! I love the look of solid French knots as well but I really don’t know if I’d have the patience!
I worked small so I was able to see some good progress which helped me stay motivated. I don’t think I could do a really big piece even though it would be really cool.
Wow! Now that’s a lot of French knots!! Love this!
Thanks! It ended up being a much bigger undertaking than expected but I love it!
I think this is my favorite project of your most recent stuff, I can’t even fathom the work involved in most of your projects, but that many french knots! I love rainbows, and the texture is amazing!
Ahh Becca, I love this!!! 😀 It’s so wonderful and great to see it finished!
Thanks! I am pretty darn proud of it!
It looks wonderful … but you must be crazy! 🙂
