I have been seeing a lot of deer popping up on fabric and on my Instagram feed, most notably from tinkerellen. I decided to make a silhouette cross stitch pattern for this month's Free Pattern Friday. While I was working on it, Evie asked if it was going to be Rudolph so I decided to make a Christmas version too. This is about 7"when stitched on 14 ct. Aida. Free Pattern Friday – Miniature Pinscher Embroidery Pattern
I got an email from someone asking me about making a miniature pinscher pattern to go with my cat embroidery pattern. She had stitched up the cat (check it out, it's super cute!) and wanted to make another for her miniature pinscher. I haven't stitched it up yet but I think it turned out pretty cute! I don't do embroidery patterns very often but they are fun! Free Pattern Friday – Pumpkin Spice Latte
Fall is by far my favorite season. While I don't have the same obsession many do, I do enjoy pumpkin flavored things and the occasional pumpkin spice latte. And who doesn't love a good coffee related craft? So now you can make your own pumpkin spice latte cross stitch. The finished piece is a little over 4"x5" when done on 14ct Aida and would fit nicely in a 6" hoop. Free Pattern Friday – Bethlehem Star Quilt Block
I've always loved the look of this block and have seen it called both a Bethlehem Star and the Swoon block. It's on my list of quilt blocks I want to make, but until I finally do it, I'll have to settle for this cross stitch pattern version. Between this and my Alternating Stars pattern, I really want to make a huge cross stitch quilt sampler so you can expect more of these! When stitched on 14ct Aida the block will be 5″ square. Free Pattern Friday – Back to School
I can't believe how many back to school pictures are already popping up on Facebook! Evie is going to preschool this fall but doesn't start until the end of August. But with so many kid's already back in school, perhaps you want to stitch up a little something while they're gone. When stitched on 14ct, this will be 5x7". You could easily add some text onto the lines, or leave it as is! Free Pattern Friday – Mario and Luigi
I realized I never shared this pattern for Mario and Luigi that I did for the Nerds Craft It Better swap. I stitched this using Water Soluble Cross Stitch Canvas* on quilting cotton and made it into a pouch, but you could do anything with it! It's fairly small and stitches up quickly. It's 3" tall and about 6.75" wide. Download the PDF here – Free Pattern Friday - June 2015 There are more free patterns to download here, and patterns to purchase here at my Etsy. Free Pattern Friday – John Hodgman Quote
If you aren't familiar with John Hodgman, television personality and internet superstar, then you are missing out. I can't even pinpoint how he came onto my radar, but I remember listening to the audiobook version of The Areas of My Expertise* in our apartment in Milwaukee and crying from laughing so hard. We've had the pleasure of meeting him at the book signing for his second book, More Information Than You Require* and he was amazing. One of my favorite podcasts is Judge John Hodgman where he dispenses internet justice with the help of Bailiff Jesse Thorn. One ... Read More
