The second time I met the Bloggess, she talked about Neil Gaiman's advice about doing an audiobook, "pretend you're good at it." I found an interview on glamour.com where she talks about it. ... Read More
I’m in a book?
I bought three copies of the Bloggess's book, hardcover, ebook, and the paperback version. I immediately lent out the paperback version to someone who hadn't read it and never got to read the bonus chapter. A friend made a comment about my cross stitch being mentioned in the book and I had no clue what she was talking about so she sent me a photo. I think this cements the fact that Jenny Lawson and I are best friends. ... Read More

Free Bloggess Cross Stitch Patterns
On the two occasions that The Bloggess has made her way to Illinois, I've made her a cross stitch (read more about this here and here.) I briefly considered putting these patterns up on my Etsy shop, but it felt weird to make money off The Bloggess. So instead I am giving them to you all for FREE as a gift because I love you all so much. Both cross stitch patterns are for 14ct Aida fabric. The Hugs quote fits in a 5" x 7" frame, the Unicorn Success Club fits in an 8" x 10" frame. So go ahead, download and get stitching! Send me photos if you complete one, I'd love ... Read More

When I saw that she was going to be at Anderson's Bookshop, an independent bookstore in downtown Naperville, I immediately added it to my calendar app and started planning my next cross stitch. I scoured her website looking for the perfect thing and I decided to go with a quote from Copernicus the homicidal monkey. ... Read More
Unicorn Success Club Cross Stitch
Today I headed into downtown Chicago to see Jenny Lawson, aka The Bloggess, at the Printers Row Lit Fest. I have been on a huge cross stitching kick lately so I decided to make her one. I had a very difficult time choosing my favorite post, but decided to go with Unicorn Success Club. Her book reading was hilarious and the Q&A was great. Afterwards I stood in line for the book signing shaking from the anxiety of presenting it to her. I received the greatest gift I could have asked for, Double Unicorn Success Club status. ... Read More
