Valentine’s Day Dreamcatcher

Last year I did a guest post over at My Craftily Ever After on how to make a Valentine’s Dreamcatcher. Seeing how Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, it seemed fitting to share it again with you all here!

Toddler Craft Valentine's Day Dreamcatcher from Hugs are Fun

I’m going to show you how to make a Valentine’s Day Dreamcatcher, but this could really be made for any season or holiday!

You’re going to need:
Yarn
Pony Beads
6″ wooden embroidery hoop
Pipe Cleaners

First start by having your toddler string the beads on the pipe cleaner. We used an assortment of different pink, red, white, and purple beads. Once you have the beads on, shape the pipe cleaner into a heart and twist it together at the bottom.

The next part is a little tricky so you might have to do it, or help your toddler wrap the yarn. Start with the yarn in between the two hoops and wrap it over and over, securing the heart into place.

You can use any combination of colors, but I liked the way the white pipe cleaner heart popped against the red and hot pink yarn. It definitely doesn’t have to be perfect, just keep wrapping until you’re happy with how it looks, or your toddler gets bored.

The metal part at the top of the hoop is perfect for stringing with a ribbon to hang for a fun and festival Valentine’s Day decoration!
