I’ve only bought fabric online a few times, a couple charm packs here and there. Since the bulk of my sewing is english paper piecing, I need such small amounts of fabric. Nearly every online fabric supplier I’ve come across has required 1/2 yard cuts and that is so much more fabric than I need most of the time.
95% of the time I buy 1/8 yard cuts. These equal out to be 4.5″ (sometimes more depending on the store cutting it) and it works out pretty perfectly for making my hexagons. Plus it allows me to get a huge variety of fabrics for really cheap.
I was browsing Etsy for Japanese import fabric and came across Fabric Supply, this adorable shop from Bunny’s Designs. They have so, so many incredibly adorable prints but they are all listed as 1/2 yard. But I noticed in the listing they mention they can do smaller cuts so I sent them a message and asked.
I was so overwhelmed by how amazing their customer service was. They were super accommodating and extremely patient with my indecisiveness. They were more than willing to cut 1/8 yard for me and even offered to do fat 16ths if I wanted. Their clearance fabric is a minimum of 1/2 yard so I did end up getting that adorable pink panda fabric (It was only $3.50, I couldn’t resist!)
In addition to the amazing customer service and the adorable fabric I ordered, they also sent along some fabric scraps because I mentioned using it for english paper piecing. I was just beyond thrilled with my entire experience ordering from Fabric Supply and I couldn’t wait to show off all the adorable things I got and to tell you how amazing they are.
Plus they sent a temporary tattoo that Evie promptly claimed for herself.
You can check out the Etsy shop or like them on Facebook.
I was in no way compensated for this post, I was just super thrilled with my fabric shopping experience and wanted to share it with everyone!
Check out some other amazing local stores I’ve loved visiting!

I was a little nervous especially since it’s all import fabrics and not things I’ve seen in person before, but they’re all so lovely! I can’t wait to order more!
