Fabric Flower Cards

I participated in another toddler craft swap and brought these fabric flower cards. I got the idea from a project we did at storytime and decided it would be perfect to make as Mother’s Day cards. I gave everyone enough to make two cards and it was a great way to use up some of my scraps!

When we did the project at storytime it was on a full sheet of paper and there were two flowers. The cards were 5×7″ and I decided two flowers would be too small for the 2-3 year olds. There would have been a lot of little pieces, so I just did one larger one.

The outer circle is 3″ and the middle was probably about 2″. I cut some things out with regular scissors and some with pinking shears to add some variety. For the center I gave everyone buttons to attach. We glued the fabric down with glue sticks but a liquid glue will work better for the button.

I tried to pick a variety if colors and patterns, I think it’s such a fun spring craft!

So cute! Did the toddler do most of it or was it mostly mommy? I’m never sure whether I want the frustration of trying to get my son (2.5) organized enough to do arts and crafts that I have a specific goal for. šŸ˜‰

These I laid out for the photos (they were given out in a craft bag exchange) but she did a pretty good job assembling her own. I try not to stress too much when she does them and just let her have fun. If I want it for a photo I just make my own. šŸ™‚
