Finish-Along

&Stitches is having a Finish-Along and it seems like a terrific way to start off the new year and get some old projects out of the way! I dug out some works in progress and I’m going to commit to finishing them!

I started this Statue of Liberty as a Christmas gift but at the last minute started something new. I think it’s going to look great when it’s done, but I haven’t loved stitching it. So it makes it really hard for me to reach for this project when I’m in the mood to stitch something.

I started this waste canvas cross stitch monogram and I kind of abandoned it. It’s not that far from being done, it’s definitely an attainable goal. I like the font and fabric, I just got bored only working with one color.

Even adding this to the list makes me cringe a little… I underestimated size and started a Curious George cross stitch for Evie that is way too big. (You can get the free pattern for the smaller Curious George here) It’s so close yet so very, very far away…

And in the world of yarn I have this scarf I haven’t touched in months. It’s so close to being done and I love the way this yarn looks, I’m just dragging my feet because I dread changing skeins and trying to make the variegation match up.

A finally we have Evie’s blanket. I really wish I had joined the squares as I went, I keep avoiding this project because I don’t want to deal with it. I have so many ends to weave in and the idea of joining all the squares is so tedious to me.

So there you have it. I have a couple other WIP but I am actively working on them whereas these have been cast aside. Do you have any projects you want to finish but just can’t bring yourself to pick up?

Ah, I don’t feel so alone with my mountain of WIPs! I love all your projects, and it will be nice to get them finished! Please consider linking up your crochet to my CAL, might give you a boost knowing I have loads of hexies to hook! Chrissie x

The monogram is lovely! My kids love curious george- but there is no way I would attempt a pattern with such big areas all stitched in one colour – yikes! I will be bookmarking the smaller chart though: )

Yes, I can see how you got bogged down with the Curious George. Cute, but such large color blocks. The Statue of Liberty looks interesting. I’d like to see the finished project there.

Have you finished curious george yet?Did you design this one yourself or was it on the internet – would love to stitch this for my twin boys who are 3 – they love george but we don’t get much merchandise for him in Scotland. For the free one that I have downloaded – what colours from DMC are they – was hoping to start it this weekend x
