WIP Wednesday – 30 for 30 Progress

I am absolutely loving this 30 for 30 crafting challenge! I have so many projects I lost interest in working on that I do really want to finish, but I have a hard time choosing them over the more exciting current projects I’m working on. But 30 minutes is such a short amount of time, I can easily set aside a half hour to work on one of these poor neglected projects.

I laid out a list of the projects I planned to resurrect and I’ve been making good progress!

The French knot color wheel is my new focus. I really want to get it done so I have been working on it the most. I am hoping to finish it by the end of the week.

I’ve been doing some hexagon joining since I started this too. I am doing smaller pieces that I will eventually join together into the quilt. I love seeing these come together, though joining them is definitely not my favorite task.

I also decided to add the Wild Olive Spring Stitching Club to my list. Mollie posted her finished project and it made me wants to get mine done too, I love how her quilt turned out! I have a few more of the embroidery designs to finish and then a lot of hexagons to join. I joined these two flowers and embroidered three of the designs.

What have you been working on? Do you ever work in short spans or do you prefer working for longer?

I’ve found myself doing more than the half an hour – I’ve been watching films while doing it and end up stitching for the whole film. I think it’s a really good practice – I could go whole weeks without doing anything crafty before. You have such a good eye for matching fabrics for your patchwork!

I really love this challenge a lot. Sometimes I am doing a lot more than 30 minutes but some days I’ve barely managed to get the half hour in.
Thanks so much! I really love color and I think the different fabrics work together when the colors are similar enough. Hopefully it works on a large scale and doesn’t look too crazy!

Ooh, I haven’t heard of 30 for 30. I’m in the middle of several projects (knitting a shawl, one index card a day drawing and relearning the guitar) that I’ve ended up doing nothing that isn’t biz related. I think I need to schedule a half hour play time for me.

You should! 30 minutes seems like such a short amount of time but I am able to accomplish a lot. It’s a nice time to work on forgotten projects!
