Alcohol Inked Cross Stitching!

I posted on last week’s WIP Wednesday post that I had done more with the alcohol ink from the Darby Smart coaster kit.

After the acrylic had ink on it, Jen sealed them (you can read more about the saga it took to get this right) and she put the colorful acrylic under the laser.

I am smitten with the way these turned out and I can’t wait to stitch them all up. I love the uniqueness of each of them, they are all one of a kind.

I plan on making these little triangles into necklaces.

The clear acrylic looks especially striking, and I love the etching that was added after the fact.

This has the hole pattern for my geometric heart cross stitch. I haven’t decided yet what colors to use but I’m excited about this one!

I stitched up one of them and used the Kreinik blending filament for the clouds and I love the sparkle. I’m excited to do the others.

Make sure you head over to 52lasers and see the other gorgeous pieces that Jen made!

The alcohol inks are so neat, I had so much fun playing with them. The shades of yellow, blue, and pink they put in the pack are so beautiful together, they mix really well!

It would be interesting to perhaps try see trough thread? Like some sort of fishing line? I’m not sure, but maybe it would add some different dimension to the colours; if it’s shiny, it’ll enhance them, and if the clear thread is matte, it could look cool against the shiny acrylic.

    These are gorgeous anyway!
