A few years ago I got Evie a superhero cape from a seller on Etsy and Mira got her own for Christmas. I had been wanting to make them accessories for awhile but it always managed to get put aside because of another project I wanted to do. My Favorite Embroidery and Cross Stitch Tools

One of the things I really love about cross stitching (and embroidery too) is how little you need to get started. Some fabric, embroidery floss, a needle, and a hoop is really all you need to get started. Studio Ghibli Swap – What I Got

I was so excited yesterday to come home to find my Studio Ghibli swap package! It was a bit late and I was starting to get pretty antsy seeing all the amazing packages people were getting. Thankfully the package was seriously worth the wait! I got this incredible quilted Toroto bag. The bag is a really nice size and is really well constructed, and I didn't notice this until later but there's a little clip in the inside for keys. Tonya Harding and Nancy Kerrigan Cross Stitches

A few months ago Josh sent me this amazing Kickstarter for a campaign to start a Tonya Harding and Nancy Kerrigan museum in a Brooklyn apartment. We backed the campaign for $5 because we desperately wanted to see the video with curators Matt and Viviana showing off the museum. April TSNEM – Foundation Paper Piecing

Foundation paper piecing has been on my to do list for months and months but I have been really nervous to try it. I've looked at guides and I just could not wrap my head around how it worked. I also kept dragging my feet on choosing a pattern, there are so many options out there. Studio Ghibli Swap – What I Sent

I love swaps and when I see a really fun theme, I have a really hard time saying no! I couldn't pass up the Studio Ghibli swap organized by Felice from Sew Scatterbrained.There was a pretty long time between getting our swap partners and the deadline so it was nice to not be too rushed. It can be hard to consistently have projects to show off and write about. Crafts take time and sometimes projects have to be kept secret until they're done. Rainbow Quilt Update!

It's been awhile before I had any sort of update on the status of my rainbow quilt. It's a very, very slow moving project and I'm working on it in a kind of backwards way. I used this hexagon quilt calculator to figure out how many I needed and the grand total was 3284. I ended up with a lot more than that though because I wasn't paying attention and made a couple hundred too many in some colors and had to play catch up to get enough of the others.
