Felt Plush Carrot Pattern
Evie loves Sofia the First and asked me recently to make a carrot for her stuffed bunny from the show, Clover. It was a simple little project and didn't take me long and I figured I'd put together a pattern in case anyone else wants to make a little carrot plush, especially with Easter coming up. It would also be a super cute addition to any play kitchen! I get my wool blend felt from Benzie Design on Easy and absolutely love it. The 6x9" sheets are big enough for this, I used tangerine and kelly. Cut out two of each of the pattern pieces. Using a ... Read More
Hoppy Easter! A Free Easter Coloring Page
I went to school for Illustration but I am terrible about drawing regularly. I figured making coloring sheets would be a productive way to get my act together and draw more. So here's my first one, an Easter themed one! I drew this girl a lot in school and she featured in a paper cut animation I did where she was entangled in a house plant. Thankfully this time she isn't in peril, just wearing some bunny ears! What coloring sheets would you like to see? You can save the jpeg or download a PDF here - Easter Coloring Sheet There are more free patterns to download ... Read More
Free Pattern Friday – Quilt Block Cross Stitch
I was trying to come up with what this month's free pattern should be when Stephanie from Swoodson Says suggested I make a pattern to correspond with National Quilting Month. Apparently the third Saturday in March is National Quilting Day, this year it's March 21. Making quilt block cross stitch patterns was on my list but then I did the Quilty Stitches sampler and it fell by the wayside. I pulled out my copy of Modern One-Block Quilts: 22 Fresh Patchwork Projects* (you can read my review here!) and I picked out the Alternating Stars block to make a pattern ... Read More
Free Cross Stitch Pattern – Mario 1 Up Mushroom
Normally I wouldn't share a project from a swap before I've sent it out, but this month for CraftingCon the theme is Mario and I wanted to share this pattern with you! I made this for the Nerds Craft It Better swap and I love how it turned out. I used a Dandelyne hoop necklace and stitched the mushroom using water soluble canvas. (If you're interested in trying out water soluble canvas, I wrote up a tutorial over at &stitches!) The mushroom is tiny, it's only about 1.25" x 1.25" when stitched on 14ct Aida. It makes a perfect little badge or embellishment. ... Read More
Stitch Love Blog Hop – Free Patterns
Mollie Johanson from Wild Olive has a fantastic new book out, Stitch Love: Sweet Creatures Big & Small. I already reviewed it and absolutely love it, you can read my review here. Because she's so incredibly awesome, Mollie has organized a Valentine's blog hop and made a series of free patterns for you all! I chose two designs to stitch up, Evie is getting the little rabbit with the flowers, and Mira is getting the ferret. This was my first time using Sulky Sticky Fabri-Solvy Stabilizer and I am officially smitten. I have always loved embroidering on ... Read More
