Toddler Beads

This morning we went to Michael’s to pick up some embroidery floss that I needed, and Evie picked out a bag of beads.  She was so excited and kept asking to open them in the store.  I told her we would when we got home.  A few hours later when we pulled into the garage, she immediately started yelling “beads!” So we got a pipe cleaner and she went to town stringing the beads.  This kept her occupied for a good 45 minutes, which for a toddler is an eternity. *No toddlers were left unattended with extremely small beads.  There was always adult supervision. ... I Have a Problem…

This year I have been watching an embarrassing amount of tv. While Evie takes her nap every afternoon, I put on a show and cross stitch. Happy Birthday Tesla!

156 years ago today, Nikola Tesla was born.  I think Tesla is amazing, so much so that Evie’s middle name is Tesla. (Check out the cross stitch I did for her when she was born here. If you don’t know much about him, you owe it to yourself to read up a little.  Might I suggest checking out this comic on The Oatmeal? ... Read More

Celebrity Sightings

When you go to Los Angeles you obviously hope to see some famous people.  Let me tell you, LA delivered. The first day we arrived we went to the Grove and we noticed Joe O’Connor, of Clarissa Explains it All fame.  We talked to him briefly, he was a very nice man.   Then later we had run to Target to get Evie a new outfit after she ruined hers in the ocean, and I noticed a man who looked really familiar.  I knew he was in an episode of Boston Legal where his mother had a glass eye, so thanks to a little Googling, I identified him as Fred Koehler.  I did not ...
