A Muddy Craft Day!

Chrissy from Muse of the Morning is doing a week of Big Messy Art and it seemed like a really fun idea! Summer is the perfect time to get messy with crafts because you can head outside and when you're done, just hose off. We had a mud painting playdate with Evie's best friend. We went over to her house with a bucket, a bag of soil, and a bunch of different homemade paintbrushes. Quirk Books is a publishing company that prides themselves on giving more unique books a chance. (They have a book on crafting with cat hair!) I loved their book Pom-Poms! 25 Awesomely Fluffy Projects so I was excited to get the opportunity to review another title, Craft-a-Day: 365 Simple Handmade Projects by Sarah Goldschadt. Totoro Hoop!

I had so much fun making the Pigeon hoop that I wanted to make another! It's my first time participating in the Illustration Stitch A Long. For Pigeon the embroidery is only to attach the felt, but for this Totoro hoop I used it to add some additional detail for the mouth and whiskers. I never showed off what I got for the Phat Quarter swap from Madeleine of Unexpected Kitty. I finally hung it up last week.
