I knew right away that I wanted to make Evie a crown and a shirt for her birthday. I really liked the tutorial I used to make the lucky underpants, and she also had one for making a felt crown. ... Read More
Jimbot’s Robot Letters
When I was pregnant with Evie we went to the Urban Garage Sale in Milwaukee. It was a really great show in the beautiful Turner Hall building, and I'm hoping to be able to make it to the one coming up in November. I bought this print of a robot E for her room and when I got pregnant with Mira I wanted to find one for her. Every couple months I would search around Etsy but never found the right seller. One night I got really determined and started Googling around. I eventually came across a vendor list from the July 2010 show on a message board and the name "Jimbot" ... Read More
A Pigeon Party!
Evie decided she wanted a Pigeon party awhile back. I kept asking her to make sure she hadn't changed her mind before I started making anything. We even went into Party City the other day to get a few things and she didn't waver from her Pigeon party request. We are big fans of Pigeon, and I was excited to start making stuff. I went a little overboard! ... Read More
Embroidered Headphone Onesie
I'm not even going to bother with a blanket check in this week. I did a few borders, but the number of squares actually went down because I miscounted on some of the circles and had to disassemble them. I haven't done much crocheting or stitching this week, I've been in birthday mode for Evie. Her party is Sunday so next week I will be showing off all the things I went overboard making. I put this onesie on Mira for the first time today. I made it when I was pregnant with Evie and it was one of the first embroidery things I've done. I didn't really use a stabilizer ... Read More
A Trip to Chicago Renegade Fair – Purchases
I've been wanting to go to the Renegade Craft Fair in Chicago for years but it never works out. The first year I heard about it was the weekend Evie was born, then it's been her birthday or birthday party that weekend. We've gone to the Christmas one, but I've really wanted to go to the one in September because it's so much bigger. This weekend we finally got to go, and I had some birthday money to spend. We saw so much awesome stuff that I'm going to do a couple different posts about the show. This one I'm going to show off what we bought. ... Read More
Evie is 3!
I can barely believe that three years ago I gave birth to a tiny, dark haired little baby, and today I have a funny, smart, energetic, blonde preschooler. Evie continues to amaze me every day, makes me laugh, and always keeps me on my toes. I was so nervous about how she would be with Mira, but she is the sweetest and most amazing big sister. I can't wait to see what adventures this year brings. Happy Birthday Evie Pantalones! ... Read More
Old Projects – Cupcake Cross Stitches
I've done quite a few variations of the cupcake cross stitch over the years, but don't have any that I've kept for myself. I've given them all as gifts. You can buy a copy of this pattern at my Etsy shop. ... Read More
Blanket Check-In – Week 3
This week I have been doing a lot of borders. I also realized I was going to need a lot more of the off white than I had and ended up going to three Hobby Lobby stores in the area. The first two seemed to have a completely new batch of yarn that felt completely different and didn't match at all. The third store actually had two skeins of the same dye lot, and a bunch of skeins of the next numbered dye lot. I think I'll only need the two, but I grabbed a third just in case. I was starting to panic about the non-matching yarn and the idea of having to redo all of those ... Read More
