I am really excited to take part in this plastic canvas blog hop. I love seeing all the different things people are doing with it, it's such a fun material! I haven't ever used it before, and I'm realizing how many options there are for plastic canvas! I made these baby blocks and stuffed them with polyfill and put bells inside so they rattle. They stitch up really quickly and can be customized with any colors. I've included a PDF to download with all of the different patterns I used. Each block has two solid sides and four patterned sides. I used 7ct plastic ... Read More

Free Pattern Friday – A Modern Valentine Heart!
I wanted to make a Valentine's Day pattern, but I wanted it to be modern and nontraditional. I worked on black Aida, but the pattern is for the version on white. I used DMC thread colors - 603, 208, and 333, but feel free to customize this any way you like. I think it would look great in any color scheme! The gradient of color around the edge is inspired by the E for Eclipse cross stitch, the both have the same way the colors dissolve on the edge. The heart is about 5 inches on 14ct. I made it intending on putting it in a 6 inch hoop. It fits but I think ... Read More

Free Pattern Friday – Buffy Edition
The first Friday of December really crept up on me! I was planning on designing something more festive and Christmasy, but instead you get a vaguely Christmasy, more nerdy pattern. I watch through a lot of shows on Netflix and Hulu+ while I'm cross stitching and I recently rewatched all of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. I really wanted to make a Buffy cross stitch and I made a huge list of possible ideas. I started stitching this one up but got distracted by all the Christmas presents I'm working on. This quote comes from season 5, episode 9, "Listening ... Read More
