Finished Cross Stitch Pendant!

I got a lot of votes on which design I should use for my tiny embroidery hoop. Despite most people voting for the bird, I just had to go with the flower. I feel like I will end up wearing it more. I still plan on using the bird for something, I'm just not sure what yet. A couple people asked me how the back is finished so I thought I'd show off how it works. There are two flat circles that go with the hoop. The fabric is glued around the inner hoop and then a piece covers it on the back. If you want to get your own mini hoop you can get one from Dandelyne at Etsy. ... Read More

Decisions, Decisions…

Months and months ago I bought this tiny embroidery hoop from Dandelyne on Etsy. I was really excited but like so many other times I buy cool things, I get nervous to use them. I feel like I'm not going to come up with a good enough project to do them justice. I finally decided I just needed to stitch something up for this hoop so I can make it into a necklace. I stitched up a couple possible designs and I can't decide. I've ruled out the spider, (though Evie requested I make it into a necklace for her) so it's between the bird and the flower. I'm leaning towards ... Read More

WIP Wednesday – 30 for 30 Progress

I am absolutely loving this 30 for 30 crafting challenge! I have so many projects I lost interest in working on that I do really want to finish, but I have a hard time choosing them over the more exciting current projects I'm working on. But 30 minutes is such a short amount of time, I can easily set aside a half hour to work on one of these poor neglected projects. I laid out a list of the projects I planned to resurrect and I've been making good progress! The French knot color wheel is my new focus. I really want to get it done so I have been working on it the ... Read More

&Stitches Swap – What I Got!

I am not a huge fan of Chicago. I love that I live close enough to go to events there, but I hate traveling there. And so when I was emailing Carina about the swap and places, I made sure to give her other options. For our honeymoon Josh and I flew to San Francisco and then drove down to LA. We loved San Francisco and have visited one other time since then. So while I left it open if Carina wanted to go in a completely different direction, I did suggest SF as an option for the swap piece. Carina went above and beyond and created this amazing piece of the Golden ... Read More

&Stitches Swap – What I Sent!

When I signed up for the &Stitches swap, I had no idea what I would do. The theme was "places" and I wasn't sure about doing a cross stitch of a specific location, I like to keep things more simple and stylized. I was thrilled to be paired up with Carina and she told me some places she likes, but none of them were really standing out to me. She had mentioned before that she was extremely interested in space and liked the alphabet I am working on. I decided that space counts for the theme and made a solar system pattern. I already have one pattern but I wanted to do ... Read More

Now on Storenvy and a Coupon Code!

I've been wanting to start a shop at Storenvy for awhile now but haven't had the motivation to do it. A bunch of people I follow on Twitter use Storenvy and there seems to be a really great community around it. When I was writing my blog hop post on Monday I mentioned that I was working on getting motivated to open this shop up. I stopped writing and made an account right then. I've been adding my patterns there and I'm really pleased with it so far! I know there's a lot of features I'm not taking advantage of, but I definitely plan on playing with it more. Now, ...
