How To Assemble a Laser Cut Hexie Necklace

A few weeks ago I had an idea for a necklace with tiny, fabric hexagons. I had made some English paper pieced .25" hexagons and they were absolutely adorable, but so light that I didn't think they would work as a necklace. I turned to Jennifer from 52 Lasers with a laser cutting request and she produced an awesome pendant. What I’ve Been Up To – Craft Fair Edition

I've still been plugging away at making Christmas gifts, but I've been taking some breaks to make some new products for a craft fair. December 7 I will have a booth at the Nido Winter Market in Aurora Illinois. Originally I didn't plan on making anything new, I have a ton of cross stitches and a handful of cross stitch pendants. I don't think it's any surprise that I've caught the hexagon bug. I've become an English paper piecing machine and I'm finding myself drawn to any and all hexagon patterns. Just check out this pouch, Moleskine, and duct tape that I got. Anyways, Jen from 52 Lasers made an assortment of hexagon pendant frames and I got to help her fill them! Sew Mama Sew Giveaway Day!

This past weekend, Jen from 52 lasers did the Craftstraganza show in St. Paul, MN. It looks like an extremely fun show! Since this was the first time she was selling her needle minders, I had the idea to make a hoop to display them. I was going to get fancy with colors but decided to keep it simple so it didn't distract from the needle minders. I used a gray for the font (which I matched to the same font as her Isette branding) and then a lighter gray for the design under the text. I made the design loosely based on a necklace of hers. First off I would like to direct all of you to 52 Lasers. Besides having an awesome name, this blog is fantastic!
