Now on Storenvy and a Coupon Code!

I've been wanting to start a shop at Storenvy for awhile now but haven't had the motivation to do it. A bunch of people I follow on Twitter use Storenvy and there seems to be a really great community around it. When I was writing my blog hop post on Monday I mentioned that I was working on getting motivated to open this shop up. I stopped writing and made an account right then. I've been adding my patterns there and I'm really pleased with it so far! I know there's a lot of features I'm not taking advantage of, but I definitely plan on playing with it more. Now, ... Dandelion Puff Embroidery Pattern

Last year I participated in the Christmas link up that Laura at Bugs and Fishes organized. There were so many fantastic projects and so many different ones! Well she's organized another one, this one is all flower themed and I'm thrilled to take part again! I created a colorful dandelion puff embroidery and I'm sharing the pattern with you! Now this pattern isn't exact, I improvised a lot, but I'm giving you a basic framework to start with. I did the center lines and then worked the French knots in the center and then the outside. Artbar Geek Show and a New Pattern

So while my space cross stitches were on display in Bedford, England, almost 4,000 miles away in Aurora, Illinois I had my work in another show. There is a monthly art show at the Two Brothers Roundhouse. The first Friday of the month there is an Artbar show with a different theme, this month was the Geek Show. I was hoping to create three new pieces, but time was just not on my side. I displayed my periodic table cross stitch and I made a pattern for a 20 sided die. I love how the design looks, but I think if I made it smaller I probably could have finished two ... Read More

Free Cat Patterns!

I wrote a guest post for Bugs and Fishes and made a free pattern for this felt cat. You can see the tutorial and download the pattern there. The finished embroidery fits in a 6" hoop. I also made the cat into a free embroidery pattern! I should have used a stabilizer for the fabric, the satin stitches bunch up in some areas, but I think he's pretty cute if I do say so myself! Download the free embroidery pattern here. This cat would also make a good companion for the little bunny lady I posted the other day, did you download that pattern yet? And don't forget ... I am really excited to take part in this plastic canvas blog hop. I love seeing all the different things people are doing with it, it's such a fun material! I haven't ever used it before, and I'm realizing how many options there are for plastic canvas! I made these baby blocks and stuffed them with polyfill and put bells inside so they rattle. They stitch up really quickly and can be customized with any colors. I've included a PDF to download with all of the different patterns I used. Each block has two solid sides and four patterned sides. I used 7ct plastic ... Read More
