This month's first Friday really snuck up on me! Suddenly it's a new year and I need to make a pattern within the next day! But I have one for you, and I hope it'll be a good motivation for you this year! I set a lot of goals in regards to what I plan on creating this year, but really none of that is really important. I made this little English paper pieced Christmas tree and had intended on making it into a wall hanging before posting it. However, it's becoming glaringly obvious that with the Christmas presents I'm working to finish up, that isn't going to happen in time for Christmas. So I figured I'd show off my work in progress. Free Pattern Friday – New York City Skyline

I created this pattern for a Christmas gift so I can't show off what I did with it yet. However, it worked out really well and I thought some of you might have use for a NYC skyline cross stitch pattern. It's very simple and you could customize it and use any colors you'd like. You also don't need to stitch the entire space, I just did the outline and it worked out really well! The finished piece is less than 9" wide and 4" tall when done on 14ct Aida. When Josh and I got married I folded 1,000 paper cranes and used them as decorations at our reception. Ever since then, origami cranes have had a special place in my heart.
