I've been debating a 365 project but I couldn't find one I felt I could commit to. Becky at the Pink Samurai did an awesome project for 2013 where she drew her outfit everyday. She wrote a guide about choosing a 365 project but nothing was striking me. I thought about doing a sky blanket or a mood blanket, but I doubted my ability to follow through with it. I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas. Now that I've given all my gifts, I can finally start showing these off! I started making Christmas gifts back in November, so it's been a long time for me to keep these secret! I also had Evie making presents, so I'll show those off too! Blackwork in Purple – Purplework!

I feel like I've been so productive lately, but I've been making Christmas presents so I can't show them off. But I wanted to show a sneak peak of my current project. Over at &Stitches, they declared November the month of color. They gave the challenge to create a blackwork piece, in color. Stitched Blooms Stitchalong

This bird motif is from Carina's book Stitched Blooms. I haven't picked up a copy yet so when I saw her blog post about a stitchalong with the chance to win a copy, I knew I needed to do it! My original plan was to make an ornament for Evie and stitch her name on it. Embroidered Headphone Onesie

I'm not even going to bother with a blanket check in this week. I did a few borders, but the number of squares actually went down because I miscounted on some of the circles and had to disassemble them. I haven't done much crocheting or stitching this week, I've been in birthday mode for Evie. Her party is Sunday so next week I will be showing off all the things I went overboard making. Totoro Hoop!

I had so much fun making the Pigeon hoop that I wanted to make another! It's my first time participating in the Illustration Stitch A Long. For Pigeon the embroidery is only to attach the felt, but for this Totoro hoop I used it to add some additional detail for the mouth and whiskers.
