This Sunday I will have a table at the Nido Winter Market in Aurora. If you're in the area, you should definitely stop by and say hi! I've been working hard to make new items and I'm really excited to show them all off! I set up my table today to try to figure out a layout for the show and I also need to figure out pricing. Neither are my forte, so wish me luck! ... Read More
StitchyBox – A Cross Stitch Subscription Box!
Subscription boxes have really taken off, there are boxes for everything now! And there's a new subscription box starting in January and I am extremely excited about it! Abby from While She Naps pointed me in the direction of StitchyBox, a cross stitch subscription box. I was immediately intrigued, and when I found out that Liz from Dragonflylotus Designs Handspun Thread was behind it, I was even more excited. Liz isn't new to the monthly club scene, she currently has a thread of the month club available. But StitchyBox is so much more. The website boasts the boxes ... Read More
Internet Friend Birthday Gifts!
I really love the internet, one reason is because I have met some amazing people online. Jess from CraftingGeek sent me a birthday gift, she made me this awesome Yoshi cross stitch using water soluble canvas. She also sent me some fabric scraps for my hexagon quilt and some DMC color infusions threads. Seriously, how awesome is that? Well Jess's birthday was shortly after mine and I just sent her a very, very late birthday gift. I think I found Jess on Instagram because of her progress on the Legend of Zelda Dark World map cross stitch, and it only seemed ... Read More
Free Pattern Friday – New York City Skyline
I created this pattern for a Christmas gift so I can't show off what I did with it yet. However, it worked out really well and I thought some of you might have use for a NYC skyline cross stitch pattern. It's very simple and you could customize it and use any colors you'd like. You also don't need to stitch the entire space, I just did the outline and it worked out really well! The finished piece is less than 9" wide and 4" tall when done on 14ct Aida. The finished crane is about 4x2 inches when done on 14ct. Beluga Cross Stitch Pattern!
Every month Mollie from Wild Olive picks an animal and releases a free embroidery pattern and other projects focused on that animal. This month is a beluga whale and she asked me to create a cross stitch pattern! You can head over to Wild Olive to download a PDF of the baby beluga cross stitch. I also created a pattern with both a mama and baby beluga that I have for sale on Etsy. I haven't been cross stitching as much lately and it felt nice to get back to it. Both with Saturn for the LED project and the belugas. And I'll be back next Friday with ... Read More
Ice Cream Pencil Case Swap – What I Sent
Last week I showed off the amazing package I got for the ice cream pencil case swap and now I can finally show what I sent! I sent a package to Julia all the way in Germany. She listed her favorite flavors as mint chocolate chip, chocolate, and vanilla. I really struggled to find fabric the right shade of mint, so many seemed too blue or too green. I found a few fabrics that fit the bill and I made some hexagons. I also used water soluble canvas to cross stitch little ice cream cones onto brown fabric. I decided to make it out of felt and got a chocolate ice ... Read More
